Did he really turn this down?

(Sorry, I can't find what it looked like under Socialism)

A year ago I asked the following question on Conductive World's Facebook page –

A prize?
There is an uncorroborated story that András Pető turned down a Kossuth Prize (Kossuth-díj)
This Prize was established in 1948 for outstanding achievement in science, culture and the arts, and in building Socialism. In 1963, it was restricted to culture and the arts.
The story would be more interesting if it included at least a date.
Has anyone out there heard any more of this story...

Answer came there none...

So I try again. Does no one out there have any idea about this...?
