1955 – 2012
Co-founder of significant US development

Susan Saur, 57, died of cancer on 31 December.

In 1995 she and her husband Chuck had taken their son Dan for six months at the Pető Institute in Budapest. Back home in the US, following a successful pilot programme in 1997 the Saurs along with other parents were instrumental in establishing and then running the Conductive Learning Center in Grand Rapids. The CLC presently serves thirty children in four-week session throughout the school year, as well as summer programmes, with families attending from across the United States. Susan Saur remained active at the CLC as both classroom assistant and facilities manager.

The CLC encouraged the establishment of the conductor-training course at Aquinas College and serves as its essential practice practice base. CLC must be counted as one of the most substantial achievements of the conductive movement in North America.
