Social networking

Another virtual world of Conductive Education

Two recent items on Conductive Education World have remarked upon the appearance of a Conductive Education blogosphere and spoken encouragingly about conductors’ developing a public voice..

I missed out something important and earlier today Jurik wrote in fron Calgary to remind me of this.

What about the Facebook???? There are CE groups and conductors have their own!

Absolutely right and I was at fault for omitting mention of this area of the Internet. Can Jurek or anyone else out there help out by providing us all with some URLs of materials involving Conductive Education on FaceBook or any other social-networking sites?

Dziękuję bardzo, Jurek

Facebook is fine. There are "Conductive Education" groups there. But Facebook is intended mainly for social rather than professional or academic relationship networks.

There are better tools, if there was sufficient interest in setting up an international CE network. I'd be happy to suggest some if anyone is interested.

A quick search on Facebook for 'conductive education' under Groups generates 3 groups: one apparently associated with Aquinas College with 117 members; a second apparently with the CE course at Wolverhampton Uni with 48 members and the third linked to the CE Centre of Florida (http://www.cecfl.org).

As I say, the main purpose of Facebook is friends having light fun - it's not really intended for professional exchanges. As such, it has a use, but probably rather a limited one with a 'short-life'.

BTW I have had a Facebook presence since Feb this year, just exploring its use. It's fun! Now you should really try Second Life. That's something else!

I think the “Old CE Forum” was nothing else than “social group”
Having said so… Facebook have the ability bring people together in many different ways. Look for example CBC Canada. Everything is connected to facebook. Facebook become the most popular way of communication in this part of continent (over 500 million people). It is truly phenomenon on this site of continent.
Would not be the true that CE still exist only because…the social interaction between the parents???

Long time ago gypsy told me that I in my “past” life I was a kind of “Robin Hood” person. Looking at my past contribution to CE it seams like there must be “things” like “second life”…wonder what I am going to be in my next life???
